Laser Metal Welding

In principle, laser metal welding can be divided into heat conduction welding and depth welding. In heat conduction welding, seam depths of up to 1mm can be achieved by melting the material. For depth welding, a stronger laser source is used to create a vapor capillary by vaporizing the material, which enables deeper weld seams.

With both processes, any geometries can be realized with the highest precision. Due to the small heat-affected zone, the distortion of the material remains low compared to conventional processes. Laser metal welding mainly uses diode or fiber lasers. An inert gas supply protects the welding area from oxidation.

GEFASOFT offers laser metal welding systems in different variants. Depending on your requirements, we adapt one of our standard platforms (shutter, rotary table, concentricity, and integrative solution) to your needs.
